Pupil Premium Funding
What is Pupil Premium?
The pupil premium is additional funding that is given to all publicly funded schools in England for children that meet certain criteria. The rationale behind it is to support pupils who may be at a disadvantage for a number of reasons and to ensure that the gap between them and their peers is closed. Pupils may receive pupil premium funding if they receive free school meals, if they have ever received free school meals in the last 6 years, if they have been looked after or adopted and if they are children who have parents currently serving in the Armed Forces.

The Pupil Premium Strategy Statement 2023 - 2024 includes Recovery Premium Funding post Covid and this is detailed in the document. The strategy for the use of this funding is now planned over a three year period to enable full implementation and the impact to be seen and measured over a longer timeframe. The Pupil Premium Strategy Statement will be updated annually to take account of any changes and ensure that it is still appropriate in meeting the needs of the pupils. Updated December 2023 |
